The holidays are a time where it's hard to escape all the yummy treats. This is why I have found that this is the perfect time to share some 'deceptively delicious" treats with the Fit Kids.
I love being able to share the baking experience with the children. Teaching them about the importance of choosing healthy ingredients and letting them help with cooking process not only is super fun for them - but gives them a sense of pride. Making them embrace recipes they might otherwise be hesitant to try.
Yields: 12 slices
Whole Grain Wheat Flour
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 9X5 baking pan.
Combine flour, ginger, spices, baking powder and soda in a bowl.
In another bowl, add remaining ingredients. Stir.
Now combine ingredients from both bowls into one and stir well.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for about 45 minutes or until an inserted tooth pick comes out clean.
Remove from oven and allow time to cool.
