Hi, I'm Liz -
owner, director and lead instructor of Fit Mama Workouts. I’m also a proud wife and mother to three kiddos. (ages 14, 10 & 8)
I started Fit Mama Workouts after the birth of my youngest son, 7 years ago. Remembering back now that time was such a whirlwind. I really was in the trenches of motherhood ~ which as many of you mamas know can be the craziest, happiest, saddest, busiest, all consuming, most exciting and sometimes loneliest times of you life. I know for me it was all of these things. During these times I would find myself delving more and more into fitness and health regimens. Seeing myself accomplish challenges in the gym gave me the power to believe I could accomplish challenges anywhere- even the challenges of new mommy hood life!
Gaining control over my own nutrition/ exercise plan literally saved my sanity during a time of my life when I really needed it. The encouragement of great workout partners kept me in the game when I may have got discouraged and quit. Seeing my body become stronger and more toned eventually taught me that staying in the game was worth it.
I started Fit Mama Workouts because I wanted to help other women find their own happy, healthy self worth. I wanted to provide a safe/affordable place to climb towards those goals. I wanted every mama to finish their workout and feel awesome about sticking with it and getting stronger.
As my own children got older my course with Fit Mama began to shift. I was able to move more into the position of health coach using my nutrition specialty along with my own personal life experiences to help women find a better relationship with food. This also showed through as I started my early morning bootcamp classes. I love being able to train not just moms but women from all walks of life. It truly is so amazing to see women of all different fitness levels and stages of life coming together in this way. They really are the best workout partners you could ask for!!
Fit Mama Workouts and the programs that have developed from it are the culmination of my life experiences – it’s the result of the desire I had for a support group just like this after becoming a mother myself. I’ve learned along the way that being a mom should never be an excuse to not feel great about yourself, it’s the best excuse to be all you can! I can’t wait to share Fit Mama Workouts with all of you!
