You Have Questions - We Have Answers

What do I bring to class?
Feel free to bring a mat or towel for floor exercises. Instructors will provide any other equipment needed, including books and other small activities to entertain children. Bring your own activities, snacks and water for your child(ren) too! And always remember proper coats, hats, sunscreen, etc. as needed!
Do I need a stroller?
We have a wide variety of ages for kids. For the safety of your child and others, a stroller is required for children under 2 years old.
Can I bring more than one child? Or what if my child isn’t with me?
Absolutely; in fact, our instructors will often have more than one child with them. We do require that unless you have prior permission (for liability reasons we need a signed waiver), you only bring children you are the legal guardian of. Many of our moms started by bringing their children as preschoolers and continue to attend even while their kids are now school-aged, so feel free to attend class without your child, too! Our workouts are designed to be modified as needed, whether you're pregnant, with a child(ren) or without!
If you are looking for a workout without kids ~ check out early morning bootcamp at 6am!!!!
How does Fit Mama Workouts keep children engaged? What if my child is fussy?
At Fit Mama Workouts, you'll always be surrounded by moms/caregivers, who all have fussy children sometimes. We'll keep classes entertaining and fast-paced to accommodate little ones. We'll also take frequent breaks to check-in, but step away from class as needed! New experiences and routines can be difficult, and no one will judge you for just letting your child fuss a little bit to get comfortable.
What happens in case of inclement weather?
During summer time months classes will be held at Cottonwood Park - Bootcamp will meet on the east side of the park. Fit Group will also meet on the east side of the park but under the shelter near the playground.
Outside classes will be held - as long as there is no lightening. If we need to cancel due to weather - Fit Group mamas will not be charged - Bootcamp mamas class will be rescheduled.
Be sure to like the Fit Mama Workouts FB and request to be part of the private group. Daily reminders about class will be posted there.
When can I start working out after having a new baby?
We request that moms wait six weeks and have doctor's permission before participating fully in the full Fit Mama Workout. BUT we do encourage moms and babies to join us to move around a bit when they're ready. We know how important support can be during this time! Please note, we ask ALL class participants to sign a liability form at registration.
How does Fit Mama Workouts complement my gym membership?
For most healthy adults, the Department of Health & Human Services recommends:
Can I bring a friend?
Of course! We would love for you to share your workouts with friends! Feel free to contact us and request a free pass for first-time participants. We love to see you mamas working out with friends - and to encourage that we offer Recruit a Friend Discounts!
